Virtual dreaming is software assisted lucid dreaming. This is an exercise in lucid dreaming which prepares the mind for the virtual dreaming experience.
This is a more advanced exercise for you beginner lucid dreamers. Remember the importance of keeping a dream journal and getting into a regular habit of entering our dreams on waking. The practise of doing this reinforces the recall process.
First find a mirror in your dream.
Next observe your reflection in the mirror.
Finally move your hand to your face, watching it in the mirror and observe how the reflection behaves.
Try each task before you go to sleep prior to attempting the tasks in your dreams, so that you have the procedure well-rehearsed. Then try each task at least once in a dream. You do not need to complete all the tasks in one dream, but can use as many as you need.
Our research suggests people have no difficulty performing the normal action of looking in a mirror and seeing a reflection, although it is more likely than not somehow different than the usual waking reflection, and for some 40% the image transforms as you watch.
Happy dreaming.
